The 19th annual Smithsonian photo contest is now open! hurry up and submit your work now. Here are the steps to participate in the 19th annual Smithsonian photo contest:

Step2: Register yourself in it with your email id and create a password. Log in to your account.
Step3: Send your work through Smithsonianmag.com and all you have to do is wait for the results.

Eligibility:
All photographers of age 18 and above are eligible of participating in the contest. The immediate families of people united with the Smithsonian Institution or people who are employees in it are not eligible to take part in the contest. Individuals must not be the volunteers, regents, trustees, research associates to participate in the competition.
Entry fee and deadline:
All entrants who feel that their photography is worth the win can undoubtedly participate in the show that too for free. The entry fee for the 19th annual Smithsonian photo contest 2023 is absolutely “free”.
Competition Deadlines:
All entrants must submit their work by 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on November 30, 2023, through Smithsonianmag.com.
Awards and Prizes:
From each category, 10 finalists will be selected. One among them will be the “winner of the category”. And one person among these 60 finalists from all categories will win the “grand prize”.
The 60 finalist’s work will appear on Smithsonian website in march 2023. The public can go through the website and check out the entrants work and can vote to their favorite. One photographer who has received maximum votes will be the “Readers’ Choice winner”.
As explained above, there will be totally eight photographers winning the awards. These are the awards they are going to receive:
Grand prize winner: $2,500
The winners from each category will be receiving a prize money of $500.
The winner of the Readers’ Choice will receive $500.

Guidelines:
- The contestant should be the creator and owner of the submitted work.
- The work submitted must be shot by the entrant since 1 Jan, 2019.
- The images must be submitted in JPEG or GIF format.
- Digitally enhanced or altered works are not accepted in the contest. If the judges find them so, they have the rights to disqualify the photo from the competition.
- Obscene or violent photos are not eligible for the Smithsonian photo contest.
